I’d like to thank you for stopping by my website. What can I tell you about myself? Who am I? I guess I could regale you with stories about schlepping lace samples around New York’s garment district or dryly recite my resume chronicling my 15+ years of experience in design and product development but I think I will save those for blog posts and my LinkedIn profile. I think I’d rather just start at the beginning.
I am not sure when I started drawing but once I started, I never stopped. My wise and understanding mother allowed me to draw on the walls of my closet when I was very young, on the condition that I only draw on the closet walls or on paper. When I wasn’t drawing, I was either playing dress up or making things. I don’t think I have ever really grown up entirely. I still draw all the time and when I am not drawing, I am drafting patterns or sewing. Some how I have patched together a career out of these passions.
And being a designer has given me the perfect cover for “doing research” in fabric stores and thrift shops. Over the years I have amassed a large collection of vintage fabric, antique textile designs, and old children’s books. You’ll notice that many of my designs have a vintage feel but I do have fun mixing things up and working in different styles. While I am primarily a textile/surface designer, I will design just about anything I can get my hands on. I enjoy designing logos and have worked on illustrations for children’s books.
I am fortunate to live on a beautiful woodsy island in the Salish Sea with my husband, 2 kids and a cat. My kids keep me current on Minecraft developments and supply me with all sorts of interesting design ideas.
